John 12,37-50

37. But [though] He had done so many miracles before them, yet they did not believe on Him,

38. so that the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, "Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"

39. Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,

40. "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they should not see with [their] eyes nor understand with [their] heart, and be converted, and I should heal them."

41. Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

42. Still, however, even out of the rulers, many did believe on Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess, lest they should be put out of the synagogue;

43. for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

44. But Jesus cried out and said, He who believes on Me does not believe on Me but on Him who sent Me.

45. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

46. I have come [as] a Light into the world, so that whoever believes on Me should not remain in darkness.

47. And if any one hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him, for I do not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

48. He who rejects Me and does not receive My words has one who judges him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49. For I have not spoken of Myself, but [the] Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50. And I know that His command is life everlasting. Therefore whatever I speak, even as the Father said to Me, so I speak.

Jesus had done many miracles, and he done those miracles before them or in front of them, but they did not believe on Him. Who were “them”, “them” were people that listened Him talking and “them” were also leaders of Israel at that time.

Jesus had done many miracles, how many? For example in Gospel by Luke you can find at least 18 miracles. But there are also many other miracles that weren't written. John in his last verse of his Gospel said :

And there are also many things, whatever Jesus did, which, if they should be written singly, I suppose the world itself [could] not contain the books that would be written.

Israel as a nation had not believed in Jesus, they haven't recognize there Messiah. There were some people that joined Jesus, like His disciples and some other, but Israel as a nation had not.

Why Israel as nation hadn't believed.

Because it was written so.

Prophet Isaiah said :

Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? ”

Prophets that lived in time of Israel kings which were characterized with these words: “he did the evil in the sight of the LORD“, also found that people had not listen them and had not believed what they had said, they had not believed in Gods words. Those prophets spoke about punishment that God will bring to them if they continue to live in sin. People had not wonted to hear about punishment, kings also had not wonted to hear such things so they persecuted those prophets. But those prophets continued to work for God, and He was with them.

Isaiah said in chapter 6 verses 9 and 10 :

And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know.

Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. ”

Lord made peoples harts fat and their ears heavy and their eyes blind, so they wouldn't recognize there Messiah. Why? So everybody else that were not from God's chosen nation of Israel, could recognize and accept Jesus Christ as Messiah and Saviour.

There were some people that had believed in Jesus, but they were too afraid to say that in public, because they would put out of the synagogue.

But Jesus said : (Matthew 10,32-33)

Then everyone who shall confess Me before men, I will confess him before My Father who is in Heaven.

But whoever shall deny Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in Heaven.”

Jesus wonts and asks from us to say in public that He is our Saviour and Lord.

But Jesus cried out and said, He who believes on Me does not believe on Me but on Him who sent Me. “

Jesus said that His Heavenly Father is the one that send Him to this world and He is the one with all the power and glory. Jesus said that He and Father are one, and that who sees Him sees Father, who believes Him believes Father and who accepts Him, accepts Father.

I have come [as] a Light into the world, so that whoever believes on Me should not remain in darkness. ”

Jesus is the Light and Truth and Way and He came to this world to bring salvation to all people. Israel had law and 10 commandments, but nobody can be saved by law, because no man can fulfill the law, and that is why Jesus came to the world, to fulfill the law and to pay the price of our sins.

Jesus said that He won't judge someone if he or she would not believed in Him. God gave a free will to all men, but it is said to tell that people from start are using this gift in wrong way, they use their free will to do wrong to hurt others and to hurt them selfs. People chose the wrong way in their lives, and that is why Jesus came, to show people the wright way. But also Jesus said that someone will judge those who won't believe:

He who rejects Me and does not receive My words has one who judges him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. ”

Words of Jesus Christ will be a judge for those who won't believe, words of the Good News, words of the Gospel will gave a sentence to all who won't believe.

God is righteous and He gave opportunity for every man and woman on this earth to accept His Son as personal Saviour. Everyone had their chances ad if they missed it, there is no guarantee that they will get another.

And I know that His command is life everlasting. Therefore whatever I speak, even as the Father said to Me, so I speak. ”

God wants to save all people, because He loves His creation. Jesus said that He speaks only what Father told Him to speak, so Jesus speaks about God's love for men and about the way to the life everlasting.
